Meet the Doctors



Daniel P. Ravens, D.M.D.

Dr. Daniel Ravens grew up in Andover, MA and attended St. John’s Prep in Danvers, where he graduated Valedictorian in 2005. He then majored in biomedical engineering at Duke University and earned a B.S.E. (Cum Laude) in 2009. Following his undergraduate studies, he began his dental career at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, obtaining a D.M.D. (Magna Cum Laude) in 2013. During his four years in dental school, Dr. Ravens earned several awards, including the Silver Medal Award for Scholastic Excellence by the Harvard Dental Alumni Association and the Outstanding Leader Award from the American College of Dentists. His research in bone regeneration and dental implant therapy led to Dr. Ravens publishing a scholarly article in the Journal of Periodontology in 2011. Following graduation, Dr. Ravens completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI, where he strengthened his restorative and surgical skills. He is passionate about improving the oral health of his patients and stresses the importance of preventive care to achieve these goals. Dr. Ravens and his family live in Melrose. He enjoys visiting Cape Cod, cheering on the local sport teams, and spending time with his family both inside and outside of work.


Michael A. Ravens, D.M.D.

Dr. Michael Ravens was born in Reading, MA and grew up in nearby Andover. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Georgetown University in 2002. During his time in college he worked in the field of tissue engineering and has been an author on two papers, including one project pursuing tooth regeneration. He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2006 winning the student award for dental materials.  After graduation, Michael completed an AEGD program (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) that greatly enhanced his skills and knowledge while serving as a dentist in the Navy. His interest in technology and its applications in dentistry has helped him to develop techniques to make guided implant surgery safer and more predictable. He has taught courses for the International Dental Implant Association on guided implant surgery. He currently resides in Reading with his wife Marimar and two young boys. He enjoys being a member of the community especially as a youth soccer coach.


Fred J. Ravens, III D.D.S.

Dr. Fred J. Ravens III D.D.S. is a 1978 graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry. After dental school, he moved to Reading, MA and opened his practice. Throughout the years, his office has grown and undergone several renovations. He dedicates himself to the highest standards in dentistry and has taken countless hours of continuing education in order to provide his patients with the highest quality dentistry available. Just as important are the relationships that he builds with patients and their families. After 43 years in practice, Dr. Fred has recently retired, but he still enjoys visiting the office.
